Definition:
Only the first stages of lymphopoiesis occur in bone marrow. The complete differentiation of B and T lymphocytes occurs in the thymus and other lymphocytic organs. The preliminary stages of lymphopoiesis are not identifiable morphologically.
Lymphopoiesis:
Lymphoblast --> lymphocytes --> plasma cells
