Segmented neutrophils

Definition:
Segmented neutrophils are the last maturation stage of  myelopoiesis. In this form, most neutrophils enter into peripheral blood. They constitute about of nucleated bone marrow cells (myelogram).

Appearance:
Segmented neutrophils in bone marrow cannot be distinguished morphologically from those in peripheral blood. The nucleus has a filament constriction (compared to band neutrophils).
